THE FEE-PAYING OF EXCHANGE RATE
(STUDENTS ON THEIR OWN EXPENSES AND
STUDENTS ENJOYING SOME GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP)

 

1.

The various fees paid to Beijing Normal University by international students can be paid in the form of U.S.$ or RMB.

2.

 




When paying the fees in the form of RMB, students should offer their exchange bills to show that they have personally exchanged U.S. $ for RMB in the bank recently (the current week). The university will charge the fees according to the exchange rate on the exchange bills (the bill is only permitted to be used by the student himself or herself). If students fail to offer such required exchange bills mentioned above, the university will calculate the RMB sum according to the intermediate exchange rate of the first day of the month announced by China People's Bank.

 

TUITION

1.

Language students and non-degree students must pay their tuition of at least one semester in a lump sum.

2.


Students studying for academic degrees are expected to pay their tuition of one academic year in a lump sum; those who really have difficulties can pay the tuition of half a year in a lump sum.

Students are expected to pay their fees within the first week dating from the beginning of the semester.
4.

The international students should keep the invoice for tuition in case of query. If the students lose the invoice, the tuition won't be refundable.

If students who have paid the first semester's tuition propose to leave school within 2 weeks dating from the entering, 70% of the tuition paid is refundable. To leave within 4 weeks, 50% of the tuition is refundable. Students who propose to leave 4 weeks after entering the university will not get any of the tuition back.

Students who have paid the tuition for one academic year and then decided to leave on the second semester: The tuition for the second semester is refundable if the students of spring semester put forward the application before June 15th or the students of autumn semester put forward the application before Dec.15th. 50% of the tuition for the second semester is refundable if the students of spring semester put forward the application between June 16th and Sep. 1st or the students of autumn semester put forward the application between December 16th and Feb. 15th. Students will not get any of the tuition back if the students of spring semester put forward the application after Sep. 1st or the students of autumn semester put forward the application after Feb. 15th.

Students who ask for the refund should go through the process of canceling or changing visa according to the Office of International Visiting Scholars and Students' Affairs' request, or students can't take their refund process.

Undergraduate degree students who have not completed their academic work within the assigned time should pay the tuition for the extended period according to the general tuition standard if they want to extend their study in BNU. Master students who have not completed their theses for master's degrees should pay US $500 each semester for the extended period. Master students who have not completed their courses within the assigned time should pay the tuition for the extended period according to the general tuition standard if they want to extend their study in BNU.



ACCOMODATION FEE

1.

All accommodation fees should be paid within one week dating from the beginning of the semester. Students studying for more than one year should pay the accommodation fee of one year in a lump sum. Students whose duration is only half a year should pay the accommodation fee of the half-year in a lump sum. Students who study for more than a year and who really have economic difficulties can apply for paying the accommodation fee every half year, and the fee of the second half year should be paid within one week dating from the beginning of the second semester.

Those who want to return their dormitories before scheduled expiration should fill in Application Form for Returning Dormitories at the Office in advance and provide the legal residence certificate off campus. They are allowed to return their dormitories after approval. The accommodation fee of two weeks will be deducted as compensation, and the rest part of the accommodation fee that is already paid will be returned to students. If students return their dormitories without approval of the office, the accommodation fee is not refundable.
3.
Accommodation fee is nonrefundable if students are expelled or ordered to quit school.
